JAMIE GANDY

AGE- 15
FAVORITE POSITION - ShortStop
Jamie Michelle Gandy was born September 28, 1991. Her favorite animals are cats and horses. She loves all animals and all things God made, but those two creatures truely touch her heart. Jamie has two lovely cats and two dogs. She's the youngest of ten, six brothers and three sisters. Eight of her siblings were Baseball/Softball All Stars. Her oldest sister went to College on a softball scholarship. Her 19 year old sister played on the Balcones All Star team in 2003. They won first place in sectionals, and went to Nationals. Jamie has ten nieces and nephews. Half of them have already started playing baseball/softball, and 2 of her nieces have been All Star players. "Softball is just part of our family life! I grew up loving to play. I love the sound of the ball when it is crushed by my bat, the sound of their ball landing into my glove, and most of all the feeling of sliding in to homeplate!"

Jamie began playing T-Ball for the Mariners in 1997, and in 1998 she played for the Braves. Both were at Marble Falls, TX. In 1999 she was on the Lady Rangers Coach Pitched team. When her family moved to NE Austin there were no softball leagues her age in the area. In 2005 Jamie played on Balcones Blaze Pony League with her Dad coaching. She made the All Star Team and she continued playing on the Blacones Fall Softball team. In 2006 she was on the Balcones Ice. She was one of two girls that returned to play on the All Star Pony Team.

Jamie loves to read especially Christian fiction. She enjoys writing books. She writes book and movie reviews for Just 4 Kids Magazine, and she is in charge of the cooking section called "Jamie's Kitchen". She enjoys baking and helping her mom and dad out in the kitchen. Her favorite colors are blue and red. She loves to listen to both christian and country music. Jamie dreams of having a ranch full of horses and some cats when she gets older. ( But wouldn't mind if she lived there right now) Jamie's favorite Bible verse is Pslmes 23 "'The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name sake. Even though I walk, through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for You are with me, Your rod and staff comfort me." When coming up to bat she remembers Phillipians 4:13.

Jamie did not strike out once during the 2006 spring, 2005 fall and 2005 & 2006 All Star seasons. In May 2005 she was picked up to play with the Shockwaves in a Marble Falls tournament. She struck out once against the Marble Falls and once against the Oak Hill pitcher. Those were the only strike outs in 2 years, and she still remembers!

Jamie gives her all in every game! After the 2006 All-Stars her parents asked her what she wanted to do next. Her reply was that she wanted to play on a team with other Christian girls who love Jesus Christ and softball. That is how "The Believers" team got started.
