ALEXANDRA WATSON

AGE- 13
FAVORITE POSITION - Pitcher
Alex is the daughter of Kevin and Laura Watson. She was born on February 19th, 1993 at Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas. She has two younger brothers. When not playing softball she enjoys playing volleyball at school.

Alex has been playing since coach pitch (league). Alex played on one team for four years. At 10u the coaches decided to take that group of girls and play some tournament ball. Alex started pitching her second summer season of 10u, and has pitched from that fall on. She has had lessons from various instructors the first being Courtney Williams, who at the time was pitching for St. Edwards University (Courtney had taken lessons from Ron Holt). Alex started lessons with Ron and at the time Arin Crawford (graduated HS at Leander and then went to pitch at Texas Tech). Alex is taking lessons from Dennis Moe.

Alex played select ball with the Round Rock Thunder for 2 years. Alex's strong positions are pitcher, second base and right field.

Alex also has a great good bat. Her dad is a big advocate of tee work, and he works with her on building a specific swing. She and her dad put in many hours of tee work and have both hit countless balls off the tee. Their dedication to practicing every day has really paid off.

Alex was our winning pitcher against Manor Extreme. Although she was one of our youngest players during the Austin Autumn Blast, she led the team in batting average. She hit a 3 run Homer, to almost tie the pool game against the Young Gunz from Waco. During our second game against Extreme she hit a triple for a RBI for Jamie Gandy to win the game 3-1. During the 2nd inning of the game against "The Elite of Jim Ned" Alex made an awesome double play. She caught a fly ball while playing 2nd base, and tagged the runner going back to first base. She was elected as our MVP of the Austin Autumn Tournament.
