This program #85 aired on Channel Austin 11 on Wednesday November 16th at 7 PM; Tuesday November 22nd at 8 PM; Monday November 28th at 1 PM; and Satuday December 17th at 2 PM.
This fundraiser is for Angela Roberts, by me, Angela Roberts. My current weight is down to only 60 pounds and I want a chance to try to fight Muscular Dystrophy (MD) and get better. A lot of pain is caused by this disease and I have just gotten worse over the past year. None of my traditional doctors have been able to help me and I found a doctor who can finally!
To musture up such motivation or energy it takes to do things that interest me such as various forms of art like: painting, sketching, wood carving, poetry, etc., I just don't have in result of this disease! This pains me that I can't do such simple things I love and admire. Also, I like to sing, read books, read the Bible, learn languages and listen to sermons. Due to how skinny I look, I shy away from people. I want to be able to walk again so I can feel comfortable around people, hang out with friends again and visit my family! This disease is eating away at my very being; muscles, fat, etc.! It makes me look so terrible I can't stand myself. All I want is to look normal with a healthy body weight! To be able to do normal things like swimming and feel the water on my skin and also to just be able to WEAR A BAITHING SUIT and feel the sun all over me! Most of all, I want to walk again and look normal! It would be a huge desire of my heart to not only be well but also to get married.
There are so many places I would love to go to but in the state I am in healthwise right now, I can't go to them. I would love to tell people about God's saving grace and His mercy to wash all sins away and save them! If I have the chance to fight this disease and defeat it, I want to be in the ministry for Christ and attend a Bible school of ministry. I long to serve God for the rest of my life if He would only allow me to get better!
There is a doctor in Florida named Dr. Schandl (website info below) who knows all about Muscular Dystrophy. After talking to him and hearing all he knew about MD, I am confident he can help me fight off this disease and the symptoms of it! Unfortunately, he does not accept my insurance (Medicaid). For me to just get started with his help, he has a Blood Proflie Test and Metabolic Program which costs me $861. I have already paid $232 toward getting the blood kit from Dr. Schandl but I need the additional $861 before I can send him my blood. After that, almost immediately the Metabolic Program includes suplementation which alone could range anywhere from $600 to $1,000 a month. There are other things and costs for the Metabolic Program I will have to follow like detoxing, exercise, etc. which will be an additional expense.
In all, it may take me anywhere from 1, 2 or 3 years to get better. Therefore, I calculated the costs and expenses by estimating how much it may all add up to together for the next 2-3yrs. For the supplementaion alone it will cost a total of possibly $12,000 a year and up to $36,000 for 3 years. Additional costs like detoxing aspects may cost around an estimate of $10,000 a year with an estimate of $30,000 for 3 years or a little more. Colonics, saunas and detox baths are a few ways of detoxing I will have to do to get better and follow Dr. Schandl's Metabolic Program (which is determined by my Blood Profile results).
This all comes to a total I have rounded off to be $70,000 (since some is estimated because I have not got my bloodwork done yet or raised the money yet just for that) ...and it could be a little more than $70,000 depending on my booldwork results. It is my hope that you may all take to heart my pleas for your help. Please consider donating toward this cause of mine so I may have the chance at life. My heart cries out that I may LIVE and NOT die! It longs to just be desirable and lovely to look at, to go on and get married and to serve the Lord! I would love to also help others who are ill to get better. Please have compassion on me to see my hearts desires come to pass. Your help in any way to fight this disease and get better is more than appreciated. Your prayers for me are welcomed and greatly appreciated too! Pray I may be healed, have muscles, a healthy weight on my bones to run and also to walk down the isle in a beautiful wedding dress soon! Without Jesus I feel I can do nothing!
